Set on the beautiful shores of Bang Bao Beach, Koh Kood Divers was founded by Bob and his son Jessie, who have both lived in Thailand and worked in the diving industry for many years. and together we have built Koh Kood Divers up from scratch. It has long been our dream to set up a small dive school dedicated to good customer service, with a friendly and relaxed approach to learning. Koh Kood Divers is our realization of this dream. We strive to make our customers as happy and comfortable as possible during their time with us. Flexibility is key, and here at Koh Kood Divers we understand that as well as diving, you are also here on holiday. Courses can be tailored to fit around your schedule, so there is no stress if you would like to take a little longer to complete your training. We can even come to your resort or accommodation for theory lessons if it suits you better.

Scuba Diving on Koh Kood

Koh Kood (also known as Ko Kut) has only recently been discovered for its exciting aquatic life. Our local dive sites are therefore pristine and not overcrowded by large diving operations. Scuba diving opens our eyes to a whole new world of adventure and possibilities – a magical realm of colour, beauty and endless fun! There is nothing quite like the sensation of breathing underwater and floating weightless amongst the colourful fish and the amazing marine life of the Gulf of Thailand. This will be an experience you will never forget!

The Island of Koh Kood (Ko Kut)

Koh Kood is Thailand’s best kept secret. A tranquil, tropical emerald island, she boasts some of the most beautiful stretches of white sandy beaches and secluded bays in the country. You will be welcomed by friendly smiling people upon your arrival, wake to crystal clear azure waters, spend your days swimming in tropical sun kissed bays, and enjoy the shade of coconut trees. The island has only recently become accessible to tourists and is therefore charmingly unspoiled. Every day is seen out with the warmth of the setting sun and a refreshing drink in your hand. It’s easy to fall in love with this place! So where better to learn how to Scuba Dive than in Koh Kood? Our water is never cooler than 26 degrees and averages throughout the year at around 30 degrees. The shallow bays, lack of current and calm waters make Koh Kood an excellent and safe paradise to start your diving adventure.

Since you are now an Open Water Diver, it is time to explore even more of the underwater realm here at Koh Kood Divers. The PADI Advanced Open Water Course will prepare you to face a wider range of diving environments, as you make 5 more dives over 2 days. It’s an excellent course for fine tuning your diving skills and developing your confidence as a diver.

There are 2 compulsory dives in this course, and these are the DEEP DIVE and the NAVIGATION DIVE.
For your DEEP DIVE you will descend down to 30 metres and experience the thrill of diving that bit further into the ocean.
The NAVIGATION DIVE involves learning how to navigate using a compass, as well as discovering how to read the natural aspects of a dive site and using these to find your way around.
For the final 3 dives, you are free to choose from a selection of options. These include a Night Dive, Photography, Multi-Level, Naturalist Dive and Peak Performance Buoyancy, to name but a few.

Koh Kood Divers offers a wide range of diving courses to suit every level of experience. Whether you are just here for a few days and want to see what all the fuss is about, become certified as an Open Water Diver or continue your dive education to a higher level, there are a number of options to choose from. These courses are also available in a number of languages. We offer courses in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish and Thai. At Koh Kood Divers we understand that you are also on holiday! So courses can be flexible in terms of fitting them around your schedule. Study can be made in your own time at your resort, if that suits, or if you want to take a little longer to complete your training, that’s fine too. PADI Divemaster Course

Fun Diving in Koh Kood

For those of you who are already certified divers, Koh Kood has an exciting variety of marine life and many pristine dive sites just waiting for you to explore. Our experienced dive guides are ready to show you around and share their knowledge of the local aquatic life of Koh Kood and the Gulf of Thailand. You will be taken to some of the best diving in the area and experience the beautiful wonders of our surrounding waters.

Koh Kood has a number of sheltered sandy bays which offer perfect depth and conditions for novice divers, while more adventurous can visit our deeper Dive Sites located further off shore.

The reef life is varied with a multitude of beautiful corals, supporting a variety of tropical fish. We have some stunning examples of hard branching corals, sponges, anemones and colourful soft corals. The marine life includes a healthy population of all the typical reef fish found in the gulf of Thailand; Angel Fish, Butterfly Fish, different Nudibranch, Scorpion Fish, Lionfish, Moral Eels and a number of different species of ray. Seahorses are common in our waters, as are both hawksbill and green turtles. At certain divesites we can also be lucky enough to see white-tip and black-tip reef sharks and even the occasional nurse shark too.

We are pretty laid back here at Koh Kood Divers, so generally speaking our boat will only go out once a day. However, we also offer shore dives and day trips. It really depends on our customers and we can be flexible in terms of fitting around what suits you.

We try to deliver relaxed and long dives, with small groups as standard. Dive times are usually around 1 hour depending on air consumption – so breath slow!
The waters around Koh Kood make for perfect tropical diving. There is usually little or no current and the water temperature averages around 30 degrees throughout the year, dipping to 26 degrees in the monsoon season.

Prices are 1,500 THB per dive all equipment is provided and included in this prices. All you need to bring is yourself and lots of enthusiasm!

Scuba Review

A Scuba Review is a good idea for anyone who has not been diving for 8 months or more, and has less than 40 logged dives – Or anyone who feels they need a refresher before jumping back in the deep end.

One of our dive professionals will spend about 1 hour reminding you of some of the dive theory you learnt in your Open Water Course. We will talk a little about air spaces, equalizing, equipment and Dive Procedures. We will then set equipment up together, make a buddy check and then giant stride into the water. This will provide a perfect opportunity for you to become relaxed and comfortable in the water again.

We will start in shallow water with a few basic skills with your regulator and mask, then move to slightly deeper water where you can practice and have fun with some buoyancy skills. Usually there is then still time for a 20+ minute dive during which you can continue working on your air conservations and buoyancy skills and to check out some of the local marine life of Koh Kood.

Once you have done your scuba tune-up you will be relaxed and confident enough to continue the adventure of diving and you’ll be ready to enjoy some for more fun dives with us!
