PREREQUISITES :

To enroll in the PADI free Diver course, you must:

  • Be at least 12 years old for Basic free Diver
  • Be at least 15 years old for padi free Diver
  • Know how to swim
  • Be in good health

WHAT IS FREEDIVING?

Free diving is like an advanced form of snorkeling. Various techniques used by free divers allow you to go deeper and stay down longer, with only one breath of air. Most freedivers start with snorkeling or scuba diving, then take a free diving course and become
fascinated by the quiet, calm and challenge of the sport. Freediving allows you to come closer to marine life and to glide weightless next to the reef without scaring the fish away. But freediving is also an internal experience, making you know yourself and your body better. In its simplest form, freediving is diving without the assistance of breathing apparatus and without
leaving any effect on your surroundings. If you’ve ever swum underwater while holding your breath for any amount of time, you’ve experienced free diving. Its used in various activities such as surfing, synchronized swimming, spearfishing, snorkeling, yoga or meditation.

In this course we practice 4 of the 7 disciplines on freediving:

Static apnea, Dynamic apnea, Free immersion and Constant weight

CONFINED WATER: STATIC APNEA:

Consist into hold your breath in the water without moving, for how long as possible, aside from the challenge, it is very good training for freediving and helps to prepare divers for the other disciplines. The static class
consist into improve your breath hold time, by learning relaxation skills, safety standards, psychological and breathing techniques. Goal 90 seconds DYNAMIC APNEA: In this discipline the diver swims under water in a horizontal direction and tries to swim as far as possible with a single breath. The dynamic lesson teach the student, safety procedures, proper position and finning technique.

OPEN WATER: FREE INMERSION and CONSTANT WEIGHT:

In Free immersion the freediver makes use of a rope or to pull himself down during descent and again up on ascent while in the Constant weight modality the student use two standard fins to propel himself down and up again. The student learn how to dive safely
with a buddy, development of technique, improve your depth limits by adapting body and mind to the challenge of diving as deep as possible in a single breath. Goal 10 meters
